About the Lessons
How online lessons work
How do lessons work?
All lessons and experiences take place online via Zoom. Students join from home using a computer or tablet with a camera and microphone. Lessons are live and interactive, not pre-recorded.
What languages do you teach?
French and Spanish, from complete beginner to advanced. Programs are available for children, teens and adults, with specialized options for school support, DELF preparation, conversation and travel.
What time zones do you serve?
Students join from a range of time zones and scheduling is flexible. Share your preferred days and times when you request a consultation and a schedule will be worked out together.
Do you offer private or group lessons?
Both. Private lessons are one-on-one and fully customized. Group classes are kept small, with a maximum of 6 students, so everyone gets speaking time and personal attention.
How long are the lessons?
Private lessons are 60 minutes. Group classes run 90 minutes. Online cooking experiences last 60 to 90 minutes depending on the recipe. Travel preparation sessions are focused 60-minute lessons.
How often do students meet?
Most students meet once or twice per week. Frequency is adjusted to your goals, and intensive schedules can be arranged before an exam or a trip.
What materials do I need?
All learning materials are included and shared digitally. You need a computer or tablet with a camera and microphone and a quiet space. For cooking experiences, an ingredient and equipment list is sent in advance.
How much do lessons cost?
Rates depend on the format and frequency you choose. Request a consultation and you will receive a clear quote for the program that fits your goals.

What ages do you teach?
Children from age 6, teens and adults.
Can you support what my child is learning at school?
Yes. Lessons can follow your child's school curriculum, help with homework and assessments, and build confidence speaking. Parents receive regular updates on progress.
Do you prepare students for the DELF exams?
Yes. Preparation is offered for DELF Prim, DELF Junior and adult DELF levels, covering all four skills with practice exams and targeted feedback. Contact us to discuss timing and the level your child should aim for.
My child speaks French or Spanish at home. Can you help maintain it?
Absolutely. Heritage-language lessons focus on reading, writing and confident speaking so children can communicate comfortably with family and keep the language alive.
How do you keep online lessons engaging for kids?
Lessons are built around games, stories, songs, videos, cooking and conversation about what your child actually cares about. Sessions move quickly and give children lots of chances to speak.
Can children join the online cooking experiences?
Yes, and they love them. Children are welcome with a parent or caregiver cooking alongside them. Recipes are chosen to be kid-friendly and safe.

How do I know my level?
An informal assessment is part of your initial consultation. This conversation helps understand current abilities and design a personalized program or place a student in the right group.
I'm a complete beginner. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Beginners are very welcome, and first steps in a new language are made enjoyable and successful. No prior knowledge is required.
How long until I can have a conversation?
With regular lessons and practice, most students hold basic conversations within 3 to 6 months. Progress depends on commitment and practice between lessons.
What if I'm between levels?
Lessons are customized to your specific strengths and gaps. Students between levels often combine a group class with private sessions.

What makes Savoring Languages different
What makes your teaching method different?
Structured language instruction is combined with culture: cooking, films, music, literature and real conversation. This multi-sensory approach helps students remember more and enjoy the process.
How does cooking help with language learning?
Cooking engages several senses and creates memorable contexts for vocabulary and expressions. Following a recipe together in French or Spanish puts new words to immediate use in a relaxed setting.
Do you follow a specific curriculum?
Programs are aligned with international language standards (CEFR) and customized to each student's interests, school requirements and goals.
How do conversation groups work?
Conversation groups meet weekly online with 4 to 6 participants of similar levels. Topics range from current events to cultural themes, with Veronique guiding so everyone speaks.

What happens in an online cooking experience?
You receive an ingredient list ahead of time. On the day, everyone joins on Zoom and cooks a French, Spanish or Latin American recipe together from their own kitchen while practicing vocabulary, expressions and conversation. Sessions last 60 to 90 minutes.
Can I book a private experience for a group?
Yes. Private online experiences are available for families, friends, classrooms, birthday celebrations and team events, adapted to the group's language level and interests.
How does travel preparation work?
Focused sessions on practical phrases, cultural etiquette and confidence for your specific destination, covering scenarios like ordering food, asking directions and handling everyday situations.
What is the book club like?
One book per month in French or Spanish, discussed online with a blend of the target language and English. Ideal for intermediate and advanced learners.

Scheduling and policies
What happens after I request a consultation?
You will hear back within 24 hours to arrange a short video call. During the call we discuss goals, assess the current level and agree on a schedule and program. Lessons can usually begin the same week.
What is your cancellation policy?
24-hour notice is required for cancellations. Lessons cancelled with proper notice are rescheduled at no charge. Late cancellations or no-shows are charged the full lesson fee.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes. Lessons and online cooking experiences make wonderful gifts. Gift certificates are available for any amount or specific programs.
Do you offer business language training?
Yes. Professional French and Spanish programs cover business communication, presentations, negotiations and industry-specific vocabulary.
