About Our Classes
General information about our language programs
What languages do you teach?
We offer comprehensive programs in French and Spanish. Both languages are taught from beginner to advanced levels, with specialized courses for conversation, business, and travel preparation.
What class sizes do you offer?
We offer both individual (one-on-one) and group classes. Group classes are kept small with a maximum of 6 students to ensure everyone gets personalized attention and ample speaking practice.
How long are the classes?
Individual classes are 60 minutes long, while group classes run for 90 minutes. Culinary workshops are 3-hour immersive experiences. Travel prep courses are intensive 1-hour sessions.
Do you offer online classes?
Yes! We offer both in-person and online options for most of our programs. Online students can participate in virtual classes, conversation groups, and even modified cooking workshops where we cook together virtually.
How often do classes meet?
Most students meet once or twice per week, but we can customize the frequency based on your goals and availability. Intensive programs for travel preparation can be arranged daily.
What materials do I need?
All learning materials are included in the course fee. For online classes, you'll need a computer with camera and microphone. For cooking workshops, ingredients lists are provided in advance.

How do I know my level?
An assessment is offered during your initial consultation. This informal conversation helps understand your current abilities and place you in the appropriate class or design a personalized program.
I'm a complete beginner. Is that okay?
Absolutely! We love working with beginners and have specialized methods to make your first steps in a new language enjoyable and successful. No prior knowledge is required.
How long until I can have a conversation?
With regular practice and participation in our programs, most students can hold basic conversations within 3-6 months. Your progress depends on your commitment and practice outside of class.
What if I'm between levels?
Our flexible approach means we can customize lessons to address your specific strengths and areas for improvement. Mixed-level students often benefit from a combination of group classes and individual sessions.
Can I switch levels if needed?
Yes, we regularly assess progress and can adjust your placement if needed. Our goal is to ensure you're always appropriately challenged and supported.

Conversation groups meet weekly with 4-6 participants of similar levels. Topics range from current events to cultural themes, with Veronique facilitating to ensure everyone participates and learns.

Scheduling and policies
What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24-hour notice for cancellations. Classes cancelled with proper notice can be rescheduled at no charge. Late cancellations or no-shows are charged the full class fee.
Where are classes held?
Classes are held online via Zoom by default. However, there is flexibility for in-person sessions depending on your location and preferences.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! Language classes and culinary workshops make wonderful gifts. We offer beautifully designed gift certificates for any amount or specific programs.
Are there any age restrictions?
We teach students of all ages! We have programs designed specifically for children (8+), teenagers, adults, and seniors. Culinary workshops welcome participants 12 and older.

These intensive sessions focus on practical phrases, cultural etiquette, and confidence building for your specific destination. We cover scenarios like ordering food, asking directions, and handling common travel situations.
What is the book club like?
We read one book per month in French or Spanish, with discussions that blend the target language and English. It's perfect for intermediate and advanced learners who want to explore literature while improving their language skills.
Can I book a private workshop for a group?
Absolutely! We offer private culinary workshops for parties, team building, or special occasions. These can be customized to your group's language level and culinary interests.
Do you offer business language training?
Yes, we have specialized programs for professional French and Spanish, covering business communication, presentations, negotiations, and industry-specific vocabulary.
